Photo by Reuters\/Kham<\/p>\n<p id=\"en3\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">Vietnam has been ranked 87th on a global survey that rated 119 countries in terms of their ability to attract, develop and retain talent.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en4\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">The country scored 35.55 out of 100, slightly over its lower-income peers, and showed to be better at enabling talents than attracting or retaining them, according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI), an annual report compiled by international business school INSEAD with The Adecco Group and Tata Communications.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en5\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">Political stability, good government-business relations, ease of hiring, personal safety and the use of virtual social networks are factors that are helping to boost Vietnam\u2019s talent competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en6\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">But the country is challenged by a variety of limits in terms of technology infrastructure, research expenditure, international students and environmental performance.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en7\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">Vietnam has some outstanding elements. Its reading, science and math skills rank as high as 19th worldwide, while its high-value exports rank sixth.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en8\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">Last year, Vietnam was ranked 86th out of 118 countries on the index.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en9\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">The fifth GTCI edition still shows that countries\u2019 talent attraction goes almost in parallel with their economic status, with high-income countries taking the lead. European countries continue to dominate the ranking, accounting for 16 of the top 25. Switzerland maintains its position at the top, followed by Singapore and the United States, the only non-European countries in the top 10.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en10\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">The United States has long benefited from global talent, while Singapore has a clear focus on becoming a talent hub, said the GTCI report.<\/p>\n<p id=\"en11\" title=\"Click chu\u1ed9t v\u00e0o \u0111o\u1ea1n v\u0103n \u0111\u1ec3 xem b\u1ea3n d\u1ecbch ti\u1ebfng Vi\u1ec7t\">Southeast Asia has some other strong performers. Malaysia (27th) is the top-ranked country in the group of upper-middle-income countries, standing above high-income countries such as Slovenia, Portugal and South Korea.
